Senior Project Accountant Role Overview
This is a senior project accountant position based in Canberra at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide financial support to the project management team, including coordination and preparation of detailed project cost reports, internal capital project budgets, and financial analysis for strategic decisions.
* Ensure timely completion of month-end procedures and reporting requirements according to agreed timetables.
* Support procurement processes, including RFT preparation, tender evaluations, contract finalization, and financial analysis for project consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
Requirements:
* Australian citizenship is mandatory for obtaining a NV1 clearance.
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is essential.
* Formal qualifications or significant progress towards completing CA or CPA certifications are highly regarded.
* Experience in asset and construction accounting, government capital expenditure processes, and property management (leasing, project scoping, valuation, and asset management) is required.
