Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Draftsperson to join our Engineering Team. This role is a full-time position based at our head office in Forrestfield.
As a Mechanical Draftsperson you will be expected to use Solidworks + PDM to produce 3D Models, Fabrication Drawings, Assembly Drawings, & Production Documentation in a timely manner. Another primary duty is to measure and reverse engineer parts from the workshop. You will be required to help update work packs, drawings, and manuals. Instructions will be given to you by the Engineering Manager and Design/Fabrication Manager.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
· Perform 3D Modelling & detail drafting to AS 1100.
· Produce assemblies, parts lists, & associated production documents.
· Create 2D layouts & profiles in AutoCAD.
· Reverse engineering.
· Update & revise drawings & 3D models.
· Working with SolidWorks PDM.
· Generating design solutions as per client requirements & internal discussion.
· Manage drawing system integrity in product data management system.
· Testing prototypes, modifying designs for continuous improvement.
· Working independently & as part of a cohesive team.
· Manage schedule, supervise, train & mentor team members.
Minimum Requirements:
· Advanced Diploma in engineering.
· 7+ years’ experience in a professional mechanical engineering environment.
· 7+ years’ experience using SolidWorks.
· Strong knowledge of design for manufacturing (DFM).
· Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
· Excellent organizational & time management skills.
· Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
· Must have working rights in Australia.

Highly Desirable:
· A bachelor’s degree in engineering.
· Experience in exploration drilling or mobile plant.
