As a seasoned project leader, you will oversee the delivery of utility-scale battery energy storage system projects across Australia's east coast.
You will play a pivotal role in driving Australia's clean energy transition by working closely with investors, network providers, contractors, regulators, and internal leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee multiple BESS projects concurrently, managing risks, schedules, budgets, and resources.
* Drive EPC contracting strategies, procurement, construction, and commissioning while ensuring compliance with technical, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
* Represent the business with external stakeholders, including AEMO, NSPs, government bodies, JV partners, landowners, and local communities.
* Maintain cost control, risk management, and financial performance across the portfolio, reporting regularly to senior leadership and investors.
* Lead and mentor a team of project managers, engineers, and consultants to achieve successful project outcomes.
* Foster a strong safety culture and ensure projects meet statutory, environmental, and quality standards.
* Provide input into project pipeline planning, technology selection, and continuous improvement across the portfolio.
About You
* Hold 10+ years of experience in project delivery within energy, renewables, infrastructure, or power generation.
* Proven track record leading utility-scale renewable energy or storage projects (BESS experience highly regarded).
* Demonstrate strong knowledge of Australian energy markets, NEM connection processes, and grid compliance requirements.
* Show expertise in EPC contract negotiation and management.
* Demonstrate commercial acumen with a solid grasp of project finance drivers, CAPEX/OPEX optimisation, and IRR/NPV impacts.
* Exhibit excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to engage at board, government, and community levels.
* Possess a degree in engineering, construction, or project management (or equivalent). An MBA or chartered status is desirable.
