Senior Radiographer/Sonographer locum role in regional and remote NT delivering advanced medical imaging services. 6-week contract starting Feb–March.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Radiographer / Sonographer to provide high-quality medical imaging services across a regional hospital and surrounding remote health centres in the Northern Territory. This role is critical in supporting 24/7 imaging coverage and contributing to service quality and team development.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality diagnostic medical imaging services
* Participate in a rotating shift and on-call roster to support 24-hour imaging coverage
* Adhere strictly to radiation safety and protection protocols
* Demonstrate advanced clinical expertise across all imaging modalities
* Identify and manage complex or unusual pathology, variants, and artefacts
* Supervise, mentor and support students, trainees and junior staff
* Liaise with medical and multidisciplinary teams to confirm clinical requirements
* Complete imaging administration tasks including accurate documentation and PACS management
* Follow service quality standards, infection control, and WHS policies
* Engage in ongoing self-evaluation and continuous quality improvement
About You
* Qualified Radiographer and/or Sonographer
* Current AHPRA registration
* Extensive experience in medical imaging, ideally in regional or remote settings
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Strong clinical judgement and communication skills
* Commitment to patient safety and service excellence
