About The Role
Band 3 - base salary from $83,108 per annum (plus super) - total package to be negotiated with preferred candidate based on skills and experience
We’re looking for a detail-driven and forward-thinking Drafting Officer to join our team at TasNetworks. This is an exciting opportunity for a drafting professional who thrives on precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for producing high-quality electrical and technical drawings while ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our Drawing Management System (DMS). You’ll work closely with engineering, field crews, asset management, operations, and project teams to support safe, efficient, and compliant project delivery.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to –
Prepare and publish high-quality electrical drawings in CAD, including assembly, schematic, structural, and civil drawings as required.Create and update drawings in AutoCAD (2D and 3D), exporting and issuing in PDF format as required.Work with varied drawing types including schematics, civil, structural, assembly, georeferenced drawings, XREFs, and raster images.Update and maintain legacy drawings using the Drawing Management System (DMS), ensuring drawings are accurately registered, numbered, tracked, and managed throughout their lifecycle.Manage drawing check-in/check-out processes, including issuing drawings to contractors and project managers.Receive and process red-line markups, ensuring updates are accurately reflected in revised drawings.Monitor dashboards to track drawing-related tasks and proactively follow up on overdue items.
About You
You are a highly organised drafting professional who takes pride in producing accurate, compliant, and high-quality work. You understand the importance of drawing integrity and lifecycle management, and you bring a customer-focused mindset to every interaction. You communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, and actively seek opportunities to improve systems and processes.
Your Experience And Capabilities Include -
Proven experience using AutoCAD 2022, ideally within an electrical drafting environment (civil or structural drafting experience also valued).Ability to draft confidently in both 2D and 3D, including object and connection management.Experience updating legacy drawings in MicroStation (desirable).Electrical trade background or electrical engineering qualifications (highly desirable).Strong understanding of drafting standards, document control processes, and drawing lifecycle management.Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to cross-check multiple data sources and resolve discrepancies.
