Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Boilermaker Welder to join our team. As a Boilermaker Welder, you will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on mobile equipment in a safe and tradesperson manner.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
* Performing inspections on all mobile equipment as directed by the supervisor
* Providing failure reports
* Liaising with welding inspectors and design engineers to carry out weld procedures
* Carrying out fabrication and repairs as directed by the supervisor on all mobile plant & equipment
* Undertaking welding and fabrication repairs as per manufacturers recommendations
You will work closely with the supervision team to ensure that all machinery and equipment is isolated electronically before undertaking welding repairs.
Assisting in identifying and implementing maintenance opportunities for improvement, liaising with supervision to ensure vehicle inspections and major repairs are planned and scheduled.
Additionally, you will travel to other operations in Australia and undertake repairs as requested, attend additional training courses as necessary to obtain any specific weld procedure or verification of competency.
The ideal candidate will have:
* A Trade Certificate qualification for Boilermaker Welder
* Experience in steel, alloy, oxy, plasma, TIG, MIG and stick welding
* Proven fabrication/MIG welding experience working with structural steel
* Ability to interpret drawings
* Experience using hand tool.
* Mobile Crane and Forklift High Risk Licence highly desirable
You will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people. The ability to work autonomously, use proactive approach to task resolution and be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment.
