* We are seeking an experienced PCS Control Engineer – Energy Storage Systems (ESS) to lead PCS and Power Plant Controller implementation validation tests and troubleshooting of the battery storage system.
* The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with focus on Power systems and Power Electronics.
* A strong background in grid-forming inverters acquired from either research or field experience is required.
About this Role
This role involves working closely with PCS vendors and customers to determine system requirements and verify our solution meets customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead PCS and PPC implementation validation tests and troubleshooting of the battery storage system.
2. Perform in-depth evaluation of the implemented control system as per project requirements.
3. Prepare and maintain PCS solution technical documents.
Requirements:
* Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with focus on Power systems and Power Electronics.
* Deep technical knowledge of grid-forming inverters acquired from either research or field experience.
* Knowledge of battery energy storage or utility scale solar grid integration.
* Experience working on PSCAD, PSS/E and other power system modeling software.
* Experience with IEC 61131-3 programming, preferably Simatic S7 PLC series.
* Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
* Familiarity with industry and standards such as UL 1741 SA, IEEE 1547, IEEE 2800, and ISO requirements.
