About the work unit / facility The Charters Towers Rehabilitation Unit (CTRU) is a residential facility that provides extended care, rehabilitation, and dual-disability treatment for people who have long-term residual and complex mental health needs. The CTRU mental health team provide an integration program designed to prepare residents for community re-integration and ongoing, long-term 24-hour care. The key purpose of this position is to assist with the provision of nursing care in the residential setting, which is safe, of the highest quality possible and in accordance with established professional standards. Applicants who meet one of the following criteria are considered highly desirable: * Hold a relevant Certificate III in Aged Care, Health Service Assistant or equivalent, or * Successful completion of the first semester full-time equivalent Diploma of Nursing course including all theoretical and clinical competencies, or * Successful completion of the first year full-time equivalent undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing course including all theoretical and clinical competencies.
