About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSE Advisor to support a significant pipeline construction initiative based in Brisbane. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a critical infrastructure project within the sustainable energy sector.
You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust health, safety, and environmental management systems, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
Your day-today responsibilities to include;
* Prepare and manage project documentation to ensure compliance with Australian standards, client specifications, and project plans
* Review, control, and issue construction permits, or actively participate in the permit process
* Oversee and control the project's JSA and SWMS documentation
* Contribute to or lead morning pre-start and toolbox talks, including developing relevant content
* Conduct inspections and audits while managing the audit schedule
* Provide Opportunity and risk identification to the line manager for direction on treatment
* Ensure all project activities undertaken are designed, planned and carried out in accordance with relevant systems & process and comply with State and Federal regulations
* Manage and drive participation and ownership of process improvement.
* Perform analysis of existing operations, in order to identify opportunities for improvement
* Ensure that all communications with project stakeholders is appropriate and in accordance with any contractual / commercial obligations at all times
* Coaches the Project Team and Workforce in understanding and implementing the "Our Safety Culture"
About you
* Diploma Qualifications in OH&S, HSEQ, Risk Management or related area is essential (Degree desirable – minimum requirement Cert IV OHS)
* Sound knowledge of HSE legislation, industry and best-practice standards and their relevance to the group
* Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a contracting environment ideally working on a large scale gas infrastructure construction project
* Demonstrated capability to develop and implement HSE management systems.
* Experience in leading incident investigations.
* Experience in developing and leading training and presentations to small and large groups.
* Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships (both internally and externally).
