Experienced horticultural supervisor Required
Muchea Tree Farm is looking for full-time horticultural supervisor to join our group to support our further business development.
Successful applicant is expected to deliver the following job duties:
· Overseeing day-to-day farming routines, including planting, pruning, thinning, and harvesting to meet production targets;
· Is passionate about horticulture and has an eagerness to learn and develop their skills as well as lead and impart knowledge to other employees, especially apprentices;
· Is a supportive team player who helps to foster a culture of collaboration to achieve the best outcomes for our farm;
· Monitoring and maintaining optimal growing conditions, including irrigation, climate control, pest & weed control and the hydroponics system
· Maintains a high professional standard by taking an organized and efficient approach to tasks and responsibilities, and can problem-solve when required;
· Complete general farm maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding, mulching, hedging, irrigation repairs, pest and disease identification and control;
· Ensure a clean, safe and organized farm environment;
· Assistance with building projects and general farm duties as required.
Salary: $78,000.00 to $90,000.00 /year + superannuation
Skills and Experience:
* Previous experience in a supervisory role within the horticultural industry
* Strong leadership, communication, and technical knowledge of plant health and machinery
* Has a Certificate III in Horticulture
* Has sound pest, disease and irrigation knowledge
* Good communication skills
