General Practice Teaching Role
Deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching to medical students in a regional clinical unit.
Play a pivotal leadership role in shaping the future of healthcare education and fostering a strong sense of belonging among students.
Responsibilities
* Lead academic delivery of General Practice across all four years of the MD program, including teaching, assessment, curriculum enhancement, and mentoring of clinical educators.
* Coordinate and optimize clinical placements and partnerships with local GPs, practices, and academic staff to secure quality learning environments and support student success.
* Maintain personal academic excellence through research and scholarship of teaching and learning, while fostering a vibrant research culture within the unit.
* Build research capacity by initiating and supporting collaborative projects with academics, health service clinicians, and external partners to enhance the unit's research profile and impact.
* Provide supervision to learners in area of expertise where feasible.

Qualifications and Experience (About You)
* Medical qualification and General Practice Specialist qualification, with eligibility for registration as a medical practitioner in Australia.
* Expert knowledge and experience in general practice clinical capacity, including evidence of knowledge of current education best practice.
* Established profile in clinical teaching in General Practice and record of contribution to supervision of medical students.
* Evidence of contribution to quality clinical teaching at undergraduate postgraduate and/or professional entry level.
* Ability to establish effective relationships and represent the unit and its interests within healthcare settings and the wider community.
* High-level communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, colleagues, and the wider community.
* Highly developed organizational skills and ability to operate effectively in a complex working environment.
* Commitment to and understanding of issues surrounding living and working in a rural and/or regional area.

The successful candidate may be required to complete pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, education check, and AHPRA registration. Employer-sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
