The School
Bannister Creek Primary School (PS) is an Independent Public School, situated in Lynwood. Our school caters for approximately 630 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 in a beautifully planned environment that focuses on providing sustainable opportunities including a school gardening club with vegetable, herb and Indigenous plant gardens and an outdoor classroom on site as well as Moort Boodja - a 6 Seasons Garden. Our proximity to the Bannister Creek allows us the privilege to embed an authentic Care for Country program. We have 24 classrooms including 6 purpose-built ECE rooms, as well as a contemporary library resource centre, specialist art, science and music rooms and a fully enclosed undercover area.

The Role
Are you a passionate and reflective educator committed to student growth, cultural responsiveness, and evidence-based teaching? We are seeking a high-impact Primary Classroom Teacher to join our dedicated team and deliver high-quality teaching and learning for students from Years 1 to 6.
This role requires a teacher with a strong grasp of the Western Australian Curriculum, a commitment to Teach for Impact, and the ability to implement Quality Teaching Strategies grounded in current research, including Cognitive Load Theory, Explicit Instruction, and Inquiry-Based Learning. The successful applicant will be a team player with a clear focus on student engagement and achievement, wellbeing and inclusion, and school improvement.
We are ideally looking for an applicant who display the following:

* Knowledge and implementation of the Western Australian Curriculum across Years 1–6.
* Understanding and practical application of the Quality Teaching Strategy and Teach for Impact framework to support high-impact learning.
* Evidence-based understanding of Cognitive Load Theory and how it informs student engagement, retention, and transfer of learning.
* Skilled in applying both explicit and inquiry pedagogies to differentiate learning and promote critical and creative thinking.
* High level of data literacy, including the ability to analyse, interpret, and act on student performance data to inform targeted instruction.
* Commitment to school and student improvement planning through reflective practice and collaboration.
* Proven ability to embed cultural responsiveness across all learning areas, including the integration of Aboriginal perspectives, Two-Way Learning, and Care for Country principles.
* Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in dynamic teaching teams.
* Knowledge and application of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for behaviour, trauma-informed practices, and inclusive approaches to meet the needs of neurodiverse students.
* Well-developed classroom management strategies, proactive behaviour support through a Positive Behaviour Schools model, and a relational approach to creating safe and inclusive learning environments.
* Cultural competency and responsiveness in engaging with our culturally and linguistically diverse community.
* A growth mindset and commitment to being a lifelong learner, contributing actively to professional learning communities.
