As a Special Needs Transit Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the care, comfort and safety of students with special needs on school buses. Effective communication and collaboration with drivers are essential to deliver a seamless experience for all students. To achieve this, daily records must be maintained to track student behavior and medical issues.
Working Arrangements
The successful candidate will work two split shifts daily, consisting of 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. This schedule operates Monday to Friday, resulting in an average weekly workload of 20 hours.
Qualifications and Experience
* A Working with Children (Ochre) card is a mandatory requirement for this position.
* A current first aid certificate, including CPR, is also required.
* A Certificate III in early childhood education and care is highly desirable.
* Experience working in a care setting for children with special needs is also highly desirable.
A pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening will be conducted as part of the selection process for successful applicants.
