About The Role
Care 24-7 provides the highest quality 24/7 Emergency Care in Australia with a continual focus on excellence. We pride ourselves on providing health care services to our local communities in a caring environment within high standard Emergency Departments.

Our Buderim Private Emergency Centre is staffed by highly trained and experienced emergency physicians and a team of professional emergency nurses. We provide minimal wait times for presenting patients and have direct access to a wide range of tests, specialists and treatments.

The Buderim Private Emergency Centre is the only 24/7 Private Emergency Department on the Sunshine Coast.

This position reports to the Business Manager and is responsible for providing excellence customer service, clerical accuracy and efficiency within the EC and assists in achieving the goals of the Emergency Centre and the broader hospital.

As an experienced Medical Receptionist or Customer Service professional, you will have a proven ability to work with empathy, a diverse range of people, display a courteous/polite manner and express a genuine willingness to help patients, staff, Queensland Ambulance Service members, relatives and the general public.

You will possess well-developed clerical skills with a high degree of accuracy and speed. Experience with the use of Medtech and/or Cerner software systems is highly desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will need to be adaptive and be comfortable working in a dynamic team. You will be the first point of contact for all patients and other health professionals so a high level of maturity is required.

Responsibilities And Duties Include

* Dedicated work ethic and positive attitude

* Productive, proficient and sensible approach to problem solving
* High level of organisational skills involving time management, accuracy and attention to detail, multi-tasking and efficiency
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills involving patient care and liaison between, Medicare, government bodies, allied health providers etc
* Work independently as well as part of the team.

Special Conditions

* The incumbent will have availability over all seven days of the week for a 24-hour roster but mainly will be required for evening and overnight shifts for short notice sick leave along with some flexibility to cover staff annual leave and the possibility of public holidays.
* Pre-employment checks including National Police Checks will be conducted as part of the recruitment process.
* Must be prepared to attend relevant meetings and staff development / education activities as required.
* A formal performance appraisal will be conducted annually.
* Will often work in a challenging environment where clients at times display difficult behaviour that may be associated with distress, anxiety, mental illness, religious and cultural beliefs or language barrier.
