Maintenance Fitter – Workshop | Day Shift | FMCG Manufacturing
We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a well-established, high-volume manufacturing operation based in Yatala. This is a permanent, workshop-based role supporting a fast-paced 24/7 production facility within a globally recognised industrial business.
This opportunity would suit a mechanically strong tradesperson from a packaging, bottling, filling, or FMCG manufacturing background looking to move into a stable Monday–Friday workshop role with strong overtime and long-term career progression.
Working within a specialist workshop team, you will be responsible for the overhaul, refurbishment, and maintenance of critical production spare parts used across a high-speed manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Full strip‐down and overhaul of mechanical production components
* Diagnosing faults and restoring parts to optimal operating condition
* Working with precision tolerances and high-speed rotating equipment
* Maintenance work order management and parts coordination
* Working on bearings, shafts, rollers, and precision‐ground components
* Minor fabrication, lathe, and milling work as required
* Coordinating with stores and production teams to support plant reliability
About You
* Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting / Fitter & Turner
* Experience within FMCG, packaging, bottling, filling, or similar industries
* Strong background in precision fitting and component overhauls
* Experience working with bearings and rotating equipment
* Ability to work within tight tolerances and fast production deadlines
* Strong fault‐finding and mechanical diagnostic skills
* A proactive, team‐oriented attitude
