**About the opportunity**
The Bupa Data Program is a priority initiative at Bupa, driving for common, integrated data platforms that create value for Bupa and ensuring our data is secure and effectively governed. The Program will transform how we store, govern, analyse and use data across Bupa.

The Data Office team contributes to projects and partners with Business Units thereby enabling business functions to ensure Bupa APAC can fully leverage its data assets to help achieve Bupa's purpose, meets Bupa's business goals and ensure the enterprise is using data in a manner that is responsible from both the regulators and customers' perspectives.
The Data modeller is also expected to educate end-users and act as a data SME advising on the value of data and its associated attributes; enforce data modelling and quality standards to drive consistency/efficiency across Bupa's technology landscape.
**How will I help?**
Key responsibilities for this role are as follows:
- Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.
- Work with the Application Development team to implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models.
- Create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy.
- Maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata.
- Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models.
- Recommend opportunities for reuse of data models in new environments.
- Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts.
- Analyse data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions.
- Guide System Analysts, Engineers, Programmers and others on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
**What do I need?**
- Proven experience in developing/delivering complex data structures, including the development of conceptual, logical and physical data models
- Deep technical experience in data management roles related to Data Warehousing, Analytics and/or Business Intelligence
- Experience in Cloud data services especially on Microsoft Azure
- Previous experience supporting complex programs of work in the data infrastructure space
- Demonstrated use of contemporary best practice with regards to Industry standard ETL frameworks, approaches, technologies, and data modelling tools and Agile development methodologies
- Proven experience in Data Modelling principles, practice, techniques, and methodologies, e.g., Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault, UML, the Entity-Relationship model, and the Relational model
- Expertise with Erwin, Spark EA, or similar data modelling tools
- Demonstrated Project Management understanding and SDLC
- Technical skills and knowledge: Database Design, Data Modelling, ELT, MDM, Database warehousing architecture, Data Streaming, Data Virtualisation
