About the Role
This is a key position within our underground mining operations, responsible for ensuring safe and efficient preparation and setup of charges in ore stopes and development headings.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Fulfilling statutory obligations for shot firing and handling dangerous goods and explosives
* Managing magazine control and ensuring compliance with re-entry procedures
* Performing hole casing and other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor
* Promoting and implementing safety practices and training
* Collaborating with environmental teams to identify and manage environmental risks
Reporting directly to the Mining Shift Supervisor, you will work closely with the Underground Mine Foreman, Superintendent, Technical Services, Surveyors, and Maintenance teams.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong safety mindset and proven underground mining experience. Key Requirements include:
* Current manual C Class Driver's Licence
* Valid WA Shot Firing Certification
* Previous experience with Emulsion
* Dangerous Goods Security Card
* Minimum 2 years' underground mining experience
* Experience with Hypercharge and Ikon systems
