Casual Ophthalmology Technician / Medical Receptionist

We are a friendly and professional ophthalmology practice seeking a Casual Ophthalmology Technician / Medical Receptionist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys patient interaction, works well in a medical environment, and is keen to learn.
About the Role
This is a dual role combining front-desk reception duties with clinical support for our ophthalmologists and optometrists. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Welcoming patients and managing appointments
* Answering phone calls and handling enquiries
* Patient billing, payments, and Medicare/private health claims
* Assisting with ophthalmic testing (e.g. visual acuity, OCT, visual fields – training provided)
* Preparing patients for consultations
* Maintaining accurate patient records
* General administrative and clinic support duties
About You
* Friendly, professional, and well-presented
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Comfortable working with patients of all ages
* Good computer and organisational skills
* Ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment
* Reliable and a team player
Desirable (but not essential)
* Experience in a medical or allied health practice
* Previous receptionist or customer service experience
* Interest in healthcare or eye health
* Experience with medical software (Best Practice – if applicable)
