About Us
Good Sammy's purpose is to create meaningful employment opportunities and pathways for people with disabilities. We employ hundreds of West Australians with disabilities, and you are also supporting them by volunteering in our business services.
The Role
We are looking for volunteers for our Canteen. We are seeking those who have a passion for food preparation and a willingness to learn kitchen tasks with the ability to supervise other volunteers/staff.
Qualifications
Able to stand for extended periods
Comfortable working in a fast-paced hot environment
Willing to perform a variety of kitchen duties
Ability to follow basic verbal or written instructions
Punctual and reliable
Responsibilities & Tasks
Assist the chef in cooking meals and preparing ingredients
Dishwashing duties and general tidy up
Work on the cash register to process transactions
Customer service to serve Good Sammy staff and employees
Ensure correct handling of chemicals and equipment; safe hygiene practices
Be innovative Share ideas and propose new dishes and ways to improve current offerings
Location & Schedule
This role is based in our Head Office in Canning Vale. Weekdays with flexible morning or afternoon hours. Regular commitment of less than six months.

What is Provided
Obtaining the NDIS Worker Screening Check and completing the NDIS Worker Orientation Module training (paid by us)

Requirements
Applicants must have a National Police Clearance and a current COVID-19 Vaccination status. Centrelink approved organisations and students looking for work experience are encouraged to apply.
