Larvotto Resources (LVR) is developing the Hillgrove Antimony and Gold Project in Armidale, NSW. This project offers a unique opportunity to work within the mining industry and reside in the vibrant regional town of Armidale, renowned for its quality of life, educational institutions, and beautiful surroundings. Centrally located between Brisbane and Sydney, Armidale is just a short drive to the popular Coffs Coast.
Larvotto Resources is forging ahead with current ramp up activities on our Hillgrove Antimony and Gold project and we now are seeking the experience of a Laboratory Technician to join our Processing team on a residential 5 days on, 3 days off, 4 days on 2 days off roster - working 10-hour shifts per day.
About the Role
Reporting into the Senior Lab Technician, the Laboratory Technician will support the day-to day laboratory operations, with responsibility for sample preparation for analysis, ensuring accuracy of records and results and upkeep and cleaning of laboratory equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out sample preparation, testing, and reporting of metallurgical analyses including flotation, leaching, gravity separation, and instrumental techniques such as AA, XRF and spectrophotometry.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and available for use.
- Work to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistent and accurate results.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability within the laboratory.
- Support R&D; projects aimed at improving metallurgical processes.
- Work within HSE policies and procedures, promoting a safe working setting.
- Participate in regular safety audits and risk assessments.
- Additional work as specified by Supervisor
About You
- Mining industry experience (highly desirable)
- Knowledge of metallurgical testing methodologies and laboratory instrumentation (highly desirable)
- Familiarity with metallurgical processing techniques such as flotation and leaching (highly desirable)
- Understanding of HSE requirements in laboratory operations. (highly desirable)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Other Requirements
- Valid manual driver's license (required).
- Senior First Aid Certificate/CPR Qualification (highly desirable).
- 4WD experience and an accredited qualification in off-road driving (highly desirable).
