Overview
We are looking for an experienced Ground Support Offsider to join our Mining – Geotechnical team at our KCGM (Kalgoorlie), WA operations. This will be on going, long-term project work.
Both full-time and casual positions available. Local to Kalgoorlie or FIFO from Perth. Roster is 7:7 (days) – day shift only.
The Role
The primary purpose of this position is a general site labourer to assist the Site Supervisor / Leading Hand with duties as they arise.
The Ground Support Offsider contributes to the overall safety and efficiency of operations by providing essential assistance to ground support technicians and engineers, helping to secure work areas and protect personnel from potential hazards.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of cable bolts
- Installation of ground support mesh and accessories
- Mixing grout to specification
- Shotcreting
- Implement testing where required/requested
- Operate equipment such as telehandler, light vehicle and service trucks
- Maintain all equipment used in day-to-day work
- General open pit mine works
The successful applicant will have
- Elevated Work Platform Ticket
- Working at Heights Ticket
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Ability to perform labouring duties
- Good communication and organisational skills, with an emphasis on teamwork
- A positive attitude towards safety, training & environment
- Pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol assessment
- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
