About the role
Reporting to the Clinic Managers, this casual role for an Oral Health Therapist (Extended Scope) offers the opportunity to join the dynamic team at Hunter Dental Group's East Maitland practice. This is a Maternity Relief position with the potential of ongoing employment for the right person, this is a varied and rewarding position, you will play a key part in delivering exceptional preventative and restorative oral healthcare to our patients.
What you'll be doing
1. Providing comprehensive oral health assessments and developing tailored treatment plans
2. Performing a range of clinical treatments including fillings, periodontal therapies and baby teeth extractions
3. Delivering health education and promoting good oral hygiene to patients of all ages
4. Working closely with the dentists and dental assistants as part of a collaborative care team
5. Maintaining accurate clinical records and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and practice requirements
6. Contributing to a positive, patient-focused practice culture
What we're looking for
1. Registered Oral Health Therapist with a current AHPRA registration
2. Experience working in a clinical dental setting, ideally with experience in an extended scope role
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients of all ages
4. A proactive, flexible and reliable approach to work with a strong commitment to quality patient care
5. Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
6. Sound knowledge of infection control protocols and work, health and safety procedures
