Position
Controls System Support Engineer based at a client site in Port Brisbane. Responsibilities include deployment and support of electrical control systems, designing, documenting, testing and commissioning material handling automation hardware and PLC software.
Working Arrangements
Hours: Monday to Friday. The role is permanent with competitive salary, overtime benefits, and opportunities for career development.
Responsibilities
* Provide second level technical support to the maintenance team.
* Conform to OHS&E standards in design and execution of all work.
* Assist with budget costing and quoting.
* Develop functional specifications.
* Perform regular system diagnostics, analysis and provide customer reports.
* Prepare PLC programs and configure SCADA and PLC‐related equipment (e.g., HMI, scanners, roller drive‐cards, VSDs).
* Report on equipment not meeting design specifications.
* Test and commission systems on site.
* Prepare test plans, operator and technical manuals.
* Train client personnel and provide customer support.
* Assist with interstate or some overseas projects when required.
Qualifications
* Degree in engineering, science or electrical trade with tertiary qualification in engineering/electronics/mechatronics.
* Electrical trades licence highly regarded.
* Experience with configuration, programming and commissioning of PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred).
* Knowledge of SCADA applications such as ICONICS, CITEC, WINCC.
* Experience with material handling system controls (conveyors, sortation) highly desirable.
* Ability to work independently and guide teams/projects.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Flexibility to travel interstate, regional areas and overseas.
