**Canteen and Catering Assistant - Immediate Start**

**About the Role**:
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service in a friendly and supportive environment?
The successful applicant will be required to work flexible shifts across our on-site cafe and canteen as well as assist with functions when required. They will undertake a wide array of tasks such as food preparation, cooking, and customer service.
**Responsibilities may Include**:
- Creating high quality beverages and meals in line with customer and food safety requirements and processes.
- Preparation and assembly of food items.
- Foster a positive environment, which provides consistent, efficient and friendly service for customers and exceeds customer expectations.
- Maintain inventories by replenishing supplies, drinks and food items.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Handle payments through Point-of-Sale System.
- Assist with over the counter serving of staff and students during breaks.
- Partake in general cleaning duties within a kitchen, food preparation area, cold and storerooms, including the cleaning of cooking and general utensils used in the kitchen.
- Ensure food is prepared in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining the highest level of hygiene at all times.
- Display outstanding service and presentation, assisting with functions and catering across the College.
- Assist in the set up and pack down of dining and function areas as directed by the Function and Catering Manager.
- Assist across the various food and beverage service outlets of the College where required.
**Key Selection Criteria**
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on delivering high quality products and service.
- Experience with safe handling of food and food preparation, and operation of general kitchen equipment.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time efficiently, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. (Experience operating within a School environment highly advantageous)
- Demonstrated experience with point-of-sale software and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail & organisational skills.
**Essential Qualifications**:
- Have a current Positive Notice working with children Blue Card, or the ability to obtain one.
- Experience and/or qualifications in food preparation, food safety and handling.
