Position Title: Graphic Designer & Artist Liaison

Purpose of the Role
The Graphic Designer & Artist Liaison plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality design outputs that support public art, cultural, and corporate projects. This role centres on graphic design excellence in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign) while also incorporating project support, confident client and artist liaison, and administration.
The role ensures that all presentations, briefs, and reports are visually compelling, client-ready, and aligned with company standards, while maintaining clear communication with artists, suppliers, and project managers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Graphic Design (Primary)
2. Create polished, professional client presentations, proposals, and reports using Adobe InDesign (non-negotiable).
3. Apply strong design skills across Illustrator, Photoshop, and Canva where required.
4. Refine artist materials (sketches, renders, written content) into professional layouts that elevate the work.
5. Ensure brand consistency and high-quality design standards across all outputs.
6. Develop visual assets to support marketing, communications, and project documentation.
7. Project Support & Coordination
8. Support project managers in delivering public art, cultural, and corporate art projects from concept to installation.
9. Assist with preparing strategies, long lists, shortlists, and detailed design documents.
10. Track project timelines and documents in Hive and other systems.
11. Artist & Client Liaison
12. Confidently communicate with artists, clients, and suppliers by phone, email, and in meetings.
13. Coordinate artist briefs, contracts, and invoices.
14. Maintain strong relationships with artists, representing their interests while balancing client needs.
15. Research & Administration
16. Conduct research on sites, communities, and artists to inform project strategies and narratives.
17. Maintain artist and project databases in Capsule CRM.
18. Provide copy and images for post-project marketing handovers.
19. Support ongoing B Corp reporting and tracking.
Key Skills & Attributes
Essential
* Adobe InDesign (minimum 2 years' commercial experience).
* Strong eye for design detail and visual storytelling.
* Confident communicator, comfortable talking on the phone with artists, clients, and suppliers.
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication.
* Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
Desirable
* Experience with art/cultural projects, exhibitions, or public art.
* Knowledge of fabrication, installation, or art handling processes.
* Familiarity with cultural protocols, particularly when working with First Nations artists.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a small, fast-moving team.
Performance Indicators
* All presentations and client documents are design-ready with minimal revisions required.
* Consistent positive feedback from project managers, artists, and clients on design and communication.
* Strong artist and supplier relationships maintained through professional, confident liaison.
* Projects supported on time and within scope, with design outputs elevating client experience.
