About the role
As the Controlled Entities Technology Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role as the embedded technology partner for Council’s controlled entities — Invest Gold Coast and Brand Gold Coast.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role where you’ll act as the primary onsite IT contact, managing day-to-day technology operations while building strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders. You’ll work closely with the City of Gold Coast, the controlled entities, and third-party suppliers to ensure seamless, reliable, and forward-thinking IT service delivery.
This role offers a unique blend of operational leadership, strategic influence, and technical depth, perfect for someone who enjoys autonomy, collaboration, and making a tangible impact.

We’re seeking a proactive, adaptable, and customer-focused technology professional who thrives in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will bring:
* A Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or equivalent practical knowledge and experience
* ITIL Foundation Certification or demonstrated experience applying ITIL principles
* Strong technical knowledge across modern IT infrastructure, cloud services, and enterprise applications
* Proven experience providing end-to-end IT support in a complex or multi-stakeholder environment
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes
* A collaborative mindset with the confidence to work autonomously as an embedded resource
* Strong problem-solving skills and a calm, methodical approach to issue resolution
* A passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality customer experiences
* The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining service excellence
