Work Location: GoulburnGoulburn Base Hospital, situated approximately 2 hours from Sydney and 1 hour from Canberra, is in Southern NSW LHD.
Established as Australia's first inland city in 1863, Goulburn is a relaxed country town with a population of about 30,000.
It features landmarks like the Big Merino and the oldest theatre company in Australia.
The hospital has around 100 beds, located in a new Clinical Services Building.
The Emergency Department (ED) has a Level 4 role delineation, with 2 resuscitation beds, 6 acute beds (including 2 isolation rooms), and a fast-track area.
It serves approximately 22,000 patients annually, with a wide range of conditions and some trauma cases.
The ED is supported by various hospital services, including ICU, Anaesthetics, General Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Maternity, and Rehabilitation Medicine.
The hospital maintains a strong academic partnership with the ANU Rural Clinical School and offers high-fidelity simulation training.
It is accredited for JMO, ACRRM, and RACGP training, with expansion plans into EMET and ACEM programs.
Role OverviewThe primary purpose of the Rehabilitation Registrar is to provide quality care in a complex clinical environment, working under supervision according to competence.
Responsibilities include ward rounds, consultations, liaising with treating doctors, and participating in team and family meetings.
Support includes various medical and surgical teams, radiology, anaesthetics, and ICU, with opportunities for clinics in Goulburn and ACT Health.
The role suits an RMO2 or above, interested in rehabilitation or geriatrics, or a GP Registrar seeking regional rehabilitation experience.
Part-time and flexible hours are available.
Participation in weekend after-hours roster is expected, with no night shifts.
