About The Role
WorkPac are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join a reputable organisation and oversee payroll operations for multiple subsidiaries. This role will suit a motivated professional who enjoys mentoring others, ensuring compliance, and delivering accurate payroll outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Process fortnightly and monthly payrolls in accordance with legislation, standards, and internal procedures
* Provide guidance and support to two Payroll Officers, including task allocation and workload coordination
* Collect and record payroll data for all employees, ensuring compliance with internal and statutory requirements
* Respond to employee and stakeholder payroll queries in line with policies and legislation
* Prepare routine and ad-hoc payroll reports, including salaries, allowances, and payment summaries
* Maintain accurate payroll data and administrative records in relevant systems
* Complete year-end payroll reporting and liaise with the ATO and external stakeholders
* Manage monthly Payroll Tax lodgements and annual group submissions
* Support payroll account reconciliations and year-end financial reporting
* Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and payroll processes
Skills And Experience Required
* Minimum five years experience in a similar payroll role
* Strong understanding of Awards and relevant state legislation
* Experience with Pronto and Frontier systems highly regarded
* Excellent communication skills with a consultative approach
* Strong attention to detail, organisation, and ability to meet deadlines
* Highly motivated, proactive, and outcome-focused professional
