The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced EL1-equivalent Project Manager to lead the delivery of major automation initiatives within a highly classified national-security setting. This role is onsite in Canberra and requires a confident delivery lead who can operate across governance, change, requirements, financials and stakeholder engagement in a high-assurance environment.
This opportunity will suit a senior Project Manager who has previously delivered complex initiatives in Defence, intelligence, or similarly sensitive environments and is comfortable operating with autonomy, discretion and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end delivery of medium-scale automation projects
* Define and manage scope, requirements, priorities and traceability
* Establish and maintain realistic project plans, schedules and controls
* Manage risks, issues, dependencies and change control processes
* Oversee project financials, cost tracking, budgeting and reporting
* Develop and implement integrated change management approaches
* Engage, influence and coordinate senior stakeholders and SMEs
* Act as the single point of accountability for delivery outcomes
* Ensure governance, quality assurance and formal acceptance of deliverables
To Be Successful, You Will Need
* 3–5+ years' experience delivering complex projects in structured environments
* Proven end-to-end project management capability (scope, cost, schedule, risk)
* Strong experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management
* Demonstrated financial management and reporting experience
* Experience defining and managing requirements for automation or ICT initiatives
* Certificate IV in Project Management Practice (or higher)
* Ability to operate effectively in secure, high-pressure environments
* Experience in Defence, intelligence or national-security programs is highly desirable
* Familiarity with PRINCE2 or similar methodologies is advantageous
Security Clearance
You must be an Australian Citizen and hold a current AGSVA TSPV clearance. Candidates must also be willing to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA). Clearance upgrades cannot be sponsored for this role.
