Job Summary
The House Nurse Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the management of nursing services, ensuring safe and effective care for patients. This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage nursing services on assigned shifts, planning and organizing departmental activities for efficient delivery of care.
* Implement, interpret, and enforce work standards and procedures in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
* Model exemplary behavior for nursing staff by adhering to established policies and procedures.
* Evaluate shift operations using total quality management concepts, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
* Coordinate patient placement based on care needs and facilitate equipment transfers according to hospital policy.
* Solve interdepartmental problems with management and administrative personnel.
* Provide direct patient care when higher skill levels are required, demonstrating expertise in caring for patients of varying ages.
* Assume responsibilities of the Director of Nursing as required, including functioning as house supervisor.
* May work non-traditional hours, including off-shifts, weekends, and holidays, with potential for on-call duties.
Qualifications
A valid non-limited nursing license and graduation from an approved school of nursing are essential. A minimum of three years of experience, combined with strong management and clinical skills, is also required.
