Senior Automate & Virtualise Infrastructure Engineer (EL1 Equivalent)

Contract: 12 months + 12‐month extension option
Clearance: Australian Citizenship with Baseline Clearance
Hours: Up to 40 per week
A large federal government department is seeking a Senior Automation and Virtualisation Engineer to join its ICT Operations Branch. This team underpins critical infrastructure services across the department, supporting stable, secure and highly available technology environments.
Working within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you'll play a key role in managing and enhancing core virtualisation, automation and data‐centre capabilities. This includes ownership of Aria Automation, NSX, Aria Operations, Site Recovery Manager, VMware vSphere and Cloud Foundation environments, as well as contributing to server infrastructure and on‐premises platforms.
You'll produce high‐quality design, build and operational documentation, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate closely with technical stakeholders across the organisation. Flexible work arrangements may be supported in consultation with the hiring manager.
About You
You bring strong experience across several of the following:
* Aria Automation, Aria Orchestrator, Aria Operations
* VMware NSX
* Site Recovery Manager
* VMware vSphere / Cloud Foundation
You also have demonstrated scripting capability in:
* PowerShell, PowerCLI, YAML or JavaScript
Strong communication skills, the ability to document processes clearly, and a collaborative approach are essential. Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication is highly desirable.
Casual Loading: Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
