The Lotus Project is a values‐led disability and community services organisation supporting Friends, participants, and families through meaningful, high-quality programs.
We are now looking for a capable and commercially minded Business Manager to help guide the next stage of our growth. This is a senior leadership role with genuine influence across financial performance, strategy, people development, risk, compliance and continuous improvement.
This role would suit someone who is confident working across both the detail and the bigger picture. You will be comfortable reviewing budgets and P&L reports, strengthening systems, supporting leaders, managing compliance requirements and helping turn ideas into practical business plans.
About the role
As Business Manager, you will work closely with the Director, Operations Manager, Clinical Lead and Program Coordinators to ensure the organisation remains financially sound, compliant and positioned for sustainable growth.
You will provide cross-functional leadership across the business, with a focus on financial performance, pricing, funding utilisation, workforce development, compliance, risk management and business improvement.
This is a hands‐on leadership role where you will be expected to bring structure, clarity and commercial thinking while staying connected to the purpose and heart of the organisation.
Key responsibilities
Manage and monitor the overall business budget, including monthly P&L analysis, trends and projections.
Review funding utilisation, program attendance, payment activity and cost versus revenue.
Lead pricing reviews in line with NDIS and SCHADS Award changes.
Prepare monthly financial reporting and analysis for the Director.
Identify new revenue streams and business opportunities.
Oversee training, development and succession planning across the business.
Support leaders with escalated complaints, performance matters and people‐related issues.
Oversee risk, compliance and policy frameworks, including NDIS, WHS and regulatory obligations.
Analyse incident, audit and compliance data to identify areas for improvement.
Develop and maintain the executive strategic plan in collaboration with the Director and leadership team.
Support quarterly business planning and help roll outcomes out at program level.
Drive continuous improvement across programs and business systems.
About you
You will likely bring experience in business management, operations, finance, disability services, community services or a similar regulated environment.
We are looking for someone who has:
Experience managing budgets, financial reporting, P&L analysis and business performance.
Sound understanding of the NDIS, including funding, compliance and reporting requirements.
Strong leadership capability and the ability to support, mentor and develop people.
Experience with risk, compliance, policy or governance frameworks.
Confidence working with senior leaders and operational teams.
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution skills.
High attention to detail with reporting, documentation and follow-through.
A practical, solutions‐focused approach.
The ability to balance commercial sustainability with high‐quality participant outcomes.
A degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management or a related field will be highly regarded, but practical experience and capability will be equally valued.
This is an opportunity to step into a meaningful leadership role where your work will directly support the sustainability, quality and growth of The Lotus Project.
You will be joining an organisation that values care, accountability, continuous improvement and strong outcomes for Friends and families.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
