The opportunity Hill McGlynn is recruiting on behalf of a global leader in voice and communications technology, supporting customers across multiple regions worldwide.
The business delivers large-scale, mission-critical voice platforms used by organisations and hospitality customers internationally. This is a genuine Asterisk-first environment, not a reseller or GUI-only setup.
The role You'll design, configure and maintain Asterisk-based telephony platforms, acting as a senior voice specialist within a globally deployed product environment. You'll work closely with engineering and product teams to deliver reliable, high-quality voice services at scale.
Key responsibilities
* Design, configure and maintain Asterisk PBX environments (dialplans, SIP trunks, routing, IVR)
* Troubleshoot complex call quality and connectivity issues (SIP, RTP, codecs, QoS)
* Analyse SIP traces and logs to resolve production issues
* Work with the PA VX product and collaborate with developers on voice features and integrations
* Support deployments for hotel customers, including on-site assistance when required
* Partner with network and managed-services teams on cross-domain issues
About you
* 3–10 years' experience in telecoms, voice engineering, or ISP voice environments
* Hands-on Asterisk experience is mandatory (build, configure, troubleshoot in production)
* Strong knowledge of SIP, RTP, codecs, QoS and IVR design
* Comfortable working with software teams and APIs
* Excellent spoken and written English
* Melbourne-based or available during local business hours
