This is a Analyst- Credit Model Validation role with Commonwealth Bank based in Sydney, NSW, AU Commonwealth Bank Role Seniority - mid level More about the Analyst- Credit Model Validation role at Commonwealth Bank You are passionate, motivated and display a positive attitude We are a values-driven and a high performing team Together we can deliver an exemplary experience for our stakeholders and the Group Do work that matters Risk Management is responsible for developing and deploying the risk frameworks to allow the Group to take conscious exposures to credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks within a Board-approved appetite. See yourself our team As part of the Credit Risk Validation team, we are interacting on a day-to-day basis with other teams that are involved in the credit modelling lifecycle across the Group. This includes the model development unit and business unit Risk teams that conduct model monitoring and fit-for-purpose validations, as well as develop their own models covering capital (PD, LGD, EAD), provisioning, stress testing and scorecards. In this role You will be performing independent validation activities for models and quantitative tools developed for IRB, IFRS9 and stress testing. You will also be thoroughly documenting the validation report, and appropriately challenging the modelling results and the thought process around the choice of modelling methodology, to enable stakeholders to understand the strength and weakness of the final model and assess its impact. Other responsibilities will include Ensuring the models follow sound methodologies including, but not limited to, various regression techniques, time series analysis and macroeconomic modelling, using Python, R, SAS and SQL Representing Model Risk & Validation team at project advisory groups and coordinate with leaders in the model risk & validation team Effectively presenting the results of validation work and business implications to internal working groups and technical forums Proactively addressing and responding in a timely manner to developer, audit and regulatory queries and/or issues pertaining to models Maintaining sound relationship with various stakeholders Evaluating model implementation challenges, including assessment of the business impact of new or updated models on risk measures or processes Maintaining the Group Model Register We’re interested in hearing from you if you have Sound programming skills in R, Python, SAS and SQL, and manipulation of large and complex datasets A solid foundation in applying advanced mathematical and statistical techniques is essential Solid time management and prioritisation skills; and ability to work under guidance. Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication, including ability to interpret and report complex material and make sound recommendations to a range of stakeholders Tertiary qualifications, with above average academic achievements, in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, econometrics, actuarial science, engineering and data science Working with us We support our people with the flexibility to balance where work is done with at least half your time each month connecting in our Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne office.
