Registered Nurse - ESMHS at South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD)

Position: Registered Nurse, Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC) - Eastern Suburbs Mental Health Service
Employment Type: Permanent Full Time
Position Classification: Registered Nurse
Remuneration: $72,152.53 - $101,299.48 per annum, plus superannuation
Hours Per Week: 38
Location: Randwick, Sydney

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse or someone who wants to upskill, to join our dynamic mental health workforce, providing emergency care in our PECC Unit to those in crisis with a strong focus on recovery-based care.

Where you’ll be working

Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), Eastern Suburbs Mental Health Service, located on the Prince of Wales Hospital Campus, Randwick.

Responsibilities

- Provide emergency mental health care in the PECC Unit to clients in crisis with a recovery-based approach.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality patient care and support safe, ethical practice.
- Engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery and guide others in providing service excellence.

Selection Criteria

- Tertiary qualifications in Nursing and current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery and to guide others in providing service excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
- Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of recovery principles and commitment to the philosophy and practice of consumer, family and carer participation and consumer focused care.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to deliver high quality patient care in Mental Health at a postgraduate level.
- Proven experience in the provision of care and assessment and management of risk within the mental health setting.
