We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, Nurse Educator to join our team. This individual will have postgraduate qualifications in critical care nursing and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. The role will attract a dynamic person with outstanding communication and leadership skills. The Nurse Educator will demonstrate a commitment to life-long learning and have an ability to network within the company and support the professional development of the ICU team.Norwest ICU is a mixed surgical and medical unit with key specialities including Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgical, Orthopaedic and General Surgery. The ICU team have significant roles in interventional and non-interventional cardiology, provide treatment and care to acutely unwell patients admitted through the Emergency Department and have a key role with the deteriorating patient and the Medical Emergency Team (MET). The ICU provide significant clinical leadership and input throughout the hospital.The Nurse Educator will be responsible for:Delivering and/or organising education of existing and new staff within the ICUParticipate in clinical governance hospital wide committeesReviewing policies at both local and corporate levels, incorporating best practice and delivering effective education accordinglyDemonstrate strong mentoring and leadership skillsNetworking across Healthscope Critical Care Cluster and more broadly to share innovation and promote nursing in the ICUCoordination of the ‘Transition to Critical Care’ Program.
