Child and Family Support Specialist - Western NSW

This is a key role in supporting vulnerable children and their families. We are seeking an experienced caseworker to join our team.

Locations: Bathurst, Bourke, Brewarrina, Cobar, Condobolin, Coonabarabran, Coonamble, Cowra, Dubbo, Mudgee, Nyngan, Orange, Parkes, Walgett.


About the Role

* Work closely with parents, family members, children or young people to identify and address their needs.
* Collaborate with other agencies to develop and implement strategies that support child safety and well-being.
* Provide individualised support to families through home visits, addressing concerns and providing assistance as needed.
* Develop and manage safety plans, conducting thorough risk assessments.
* Manage complex cases, working with high-needs and high-risk clients and their families.
* Be involved in court processes, including preparation of court documents and attendance at court hearings.
* Participate in individual and group supervision to ensure ongoing professional development.


Requirements

* A relevant diploma or degree qualification is preferred, although applicants without may require two years' experience working with vulnerable children and families.
* The ability to build strong relationships, supported by excellent communication skills.
* A valid driver's licence is essential for travel within the region.
* A current Working with Children Check clearance number.
* Documented verification of Aboriginality, confirming your identity as an Aboriginal person.

* This role is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons only.
* Please provide written confirmation from 2-3 Aboriginal organisations within the community, addressing the criteria below:
* a) Is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent;
* b) Identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person;
* c) Is accepted as such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.
