Are you a skilled gardener who takes immense pride in your work? Ready to use the best gear, work on Melbourne's finest gardens, and enjoy every Friday off in summer?
GardenScaping is a leading garden maintenance firm specialising in the care and development of high-end residential properties. We are known for our meticulous attention to detail, horticultural expertise, and the lasting relationships we build with our clients. We have a youthful, dynamic and professional team that values quality craftsmanship and a positive, supportive work environment.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Horticulturist to join one of our two-person teams. Working alongside your Team Leader, you will take ownership of a portfolio of regular maintenance clients throughout the Bayside, Stonnington and surrounding premium suburbs.
This isn't a 'mow, blow, and go' role. We need a professional with a deep understanding of plants and gardens, who can confidently make decisions on-site to improve and perfect the gardens under their care. For the right candidate with leadership potential, the path to a Team Leader position is clear and achievable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Fine Lawn Care: Expert mowing, precision edging, and seasonal turf management.
* Skilled Horticultural Practices: Formative pruning, hedging, pest and disease identification/treatment, and targeted nutrition programs.
* Garden Development: Proactive planting, soft landscaping, mulching, and irrigation management to enhance client properties.
* Client Communication: Act as a key point of contact on-site, providing expert advice and maintaining a professional, personable rapport.
What We Offer:
* Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a 4-day work week through the warmer months (November-March), giving you a long weekend, every weekend
* The Best Equipment: Work with top-of-the-line, regularly serviced tools and a new, comfortable and professional vehicle.
* Career Progression: A genuine, fast-tracked opportunity to advance to a Team Leader role.
* A Great Culture: Join a supportive, professional team that respects your skills and avoids the high-stress, churn-and-burn mentality.
What You Bring:
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in a professional garden maintenance or horticultural role.
* A Certificate III in Horticulture (or equivalent) is highly regarded.
* A genuine passion for horticulture and a keen eye for detail.
* Strong plant knowledge and confidence in pruning techniques.
* Excellent communication skills and a professional, client-facing presentation.
* A full and valid Australian Driver's Licence.
* Physical fitness and a reliable, positive attitude.
If you are ready to take the next step in your horticultural career and believe you meet these standards, we would love to hear from you. Apply now.
