Home Care Professional
The primary objective of this role is to create a secure, nurturing environment for children and young people in residence.
* Develop strategies to ensure the well-being of children and young people in care.
* Gain knowledge and understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal communities, societies, and cultures in NSW.
* Support Aboriginal young people and their families by providing cultural assistance and advocating on their behalf.
This position requires effective leadership skills, as you will be responsible for managing a small team of youth workers. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building positive relationships with colleagues, young people, and their families.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of child development, trauma-informed practice, and restorative justice principles. A strong ability to work collaboratively, think critically, and adapt to changing situations is also necessary.
