About the Role
The Environmental Operations team is responsible for preserving, managing, and enhancing environmental assets in partnership with the community. As an Environmental Officer - Conservation Partnerships, you will support and facilitate environmental work through conservation programs and initiatives, including Land for Wildlife and Voluntary Conservation Agreements. You will also provide expert environmental advice to internal and external stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement effective conservation strategies and projects, including Land for Wildlife and Voluntary Conservation Agreements.
* Provide high-quality environmental advice and recommendations to customers, both internal and external.
* Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver superior environmental outcomes.
About You
You will have demonstrated sound knowledge of natural ecosystems, including flora and fauna identification skills, as well as strong communication and project management skills. A good understanding of threatening processes impacting biodiversity values and strategies to address them is essential.
Requirements:
* Tertiary degree qualification in Environmental Sciences or an equivalent qualification and/or experience deemed appropriate by the Manager of Environmental Operations.
* Able to negotiate on-ground outcomes with private landholders.
