**Chemistry/Microbiology Lab Technician (Fixed-Term 6 months)**:

**About the role**:
We are looking for a 6-month fixed term, full-time Laboratory Technician with the ability to work across both our Food Chemistry and Microbiology teams, based at our Halifax St East site. If you're passionate about science, eager to make an impact, and want to be part of a supportive team, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
In this position you will:
- Perform analytical testing and validation procedures
- Prepare samples and maintain laboratory cleanliness, and general laboratory tasks such as media preparation and cleaning glassware.
- Accurately record and document laboratory results and procedures.
- Follow laboratory safety protocols and use personal protective equipment.
- Support quality control and compliance with IANZ and GMP standards.
- Participate in equipment maintenance and calibration.
The expected salary range for this role is $56,550 - $60,000 p. a. for a 37.5 hour week (full-time hours). This will include some rostered weekends and public holidays.
**About you**:
To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent qualification held or studying towards.
- Minimum of three years relevant experience in a commercial laboratory environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data entry.
- Competence in general laboratory skills, including the use of balances, pipettes and laboratory tools.
- Experience with automated laboratory instrumentation (desirable).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Excellent teamwork.
- A positive attitude and willingness to complete routine hands-on tasks.
