About the Facility
Overlooking picturesque Smythe Lake, Aegis Karalee includes a host of amenities including lounge areas where residents and guests can mingle in a relaxed and social atmosphere. The word Karalee is an Aboriginal word meaning "waterhole near grass" which was sourced from the National Library of Australia. The highest standard of care, therapy and allied health services are provided, with particular attention to the individual needs of the resident and their family. The wings all have dining areas and access to well-maintained gardens and patio areas which gives a homely feel.
About You
You should ideally be an empathetic person who:
Enjoys interacting with the elderly.
* Can work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision as required, and as part of the team.
* Is reliable, proactive with a high attention to cleaning details.
With cleaning, you will need to have:
* Prior cleaning experience in a health care setting.
* Knowledge of infection control principles and commercial cleaning operations, including the safe use of chemicals.
* Knowledge and prior experience in relation to laundry services(desirable).
* Good communication skills.
* Have full Australian working rights and able to pass a national police clearance.
With laundry, you will need to have:
* Clearing / Sorting Linen and Waste skips throughout the day.
* Cleaning Waste / Linen Chute and ensuring Waste Room is clean and safe working space.
* Deliver Linen and assist with deliveries.
* Responsible for washing and handling of Viola bins in accordance with Aegis policy and procedure.
With KH, you will need to have:
* Preparing resident's meals according to dietary / care plans in accordance with developed menus.
* Maintaining a clean working environment in accordance with infection control guidance.
* Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.
You should ideally be an empathetic person who:
* Enjoys working with the elderly.
* Can work independently and as part of a team.
* Is reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
* Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
* Has good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
You should possess the following:
* At least 1 years' experience in a similar role (preferably in Healthcare Industry).
* Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
* A knowledge of food safety.
* Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
