The University is seeking to employ a First Nations Lecturer in Pharmacy (Level B) to teach into our pharmacy degrees and potentially coordinate a unit of study in pharmacy. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the First Nations Health stream within the BPharm and MPharm degrees and work with unit of study coordinators to co-design First Nations content for units and assessment of pharmacy students in Cultural Safety. They would represent the school on the FMH First Nations curriculum team and contribute to evaluation of the First Nations Health content across degree programs using sound pedagogical research approaches.

Your key responsibilities

- Conduct original research independently or as part of a team, focusing on publication, conference presentations, and securing research funding
- Undertake independent teaching and apply research or scholarly activity to enhance educational practices and outcomes
- Engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the university's expectations and standards for education
- Develop creative teaching approaches and evaluate teaching and learning effectiveness for continuous improvement
- Coordinate activities of academic staff and provide training and mentorship to less experienced lecturers
- Carry out administrative tasks and contribute to faculty/school meetings
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled
- Understand and contribute to furthering the university and faculty/school strategic agenda
- Build a professional profile through participation in conferences, seminars, and outreach activities
- Engage in translational research and establish collaborations for research, development, commercialisation, and policy improvement
- Undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate within the classification level as required

About you

- PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline is preferred or currently undertaking a PhD by research or with lived experience
- Ability to showcase a research program to undertake over the next 3–5 years related to First Nations Health/Education
- Experience in teaching and learning in a tertiary environment, evidenced by coordination of units and supervision of students in practicals, placements and/or discipline-related teaching
- Relevant experience and expertise in First Nations Health/Education
- Demonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives
- A network of relationships with key academic, professional institutions, partners and stakeholders
- Experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities
- Experience participating as a team member in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives
