Job Description
As the Marketing Automation Lead, you will define and implement a sophisticated subscriber vision across iconic brands The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and The Australian Financial Review. You will champion the MoEngage platform to orchestrate high-impact, data-driven lifecycles that spark conversations and deepen engagement with millions of Australians.
12-month contract opportunity with potential to extend.
Day to day you will:
* Serve as the primary lead for the MoEngage platform, maximising ROI through advanced journey orchestration and technical oversight.
* Execute targeted, cross-channel campaigns using our customer data platform to drive subscriber conversion and retention.
* Provide mentorship and technical guidance to a direct report and wider CRM marketing team to ensure excellence in platform operations.
* Partner with Data Engineering, Product, Brand and Engagement marketing teams to translate complex business requirements into seamless technical executions.
* Manage audience segmentation and dynamic content to deliver personalised customer marketing journeys at scale.
* Drive a rigorous A/B testing framework and monitor data hygiene to constantly refine growth and engagement strategies.
* Troubleshoot platform issues and maintain clean, reliable data to track key performance indicators effectively.
What you'll bring:
* Demonstrated expertise in marketing automation, specifically with MoEngage, Braze, or similar composable martech.
* Strong SQL skills and hands‐on experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).
* Proven experience working with Customer Data Platforms (CDP) and managing complex data extensions.
* The ability to synthesise technical information into clear, actionable insights for diverse business stakeholders.
* A proactive mindset for optimising subscriber experiences and an interest in (or experience with) paywall platforms.
* Familiarity with git or similar version control systems is highly desirable.
