Senior Financial Accountant
Non-Ongoing 3-months temo role | Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra or Melbourne
Our client is a nationally significant organisation with a strong social and economic mandate is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join its Finance team on a non-ongoing basis.
This role plays a key part in delivering accurate, compliant and timely financial reporting to support executive decision-making and governance obligations. It suits a technically strong accountant who values purpose-led work and enjoys partnering closely with senior stakeholders.
The Opportunity
Reporting into a senior finance leader, this role will support monthly management reporting, statutory compliance and board-level financial reporting. Accuracy, integrity of data and a proactive communication style are critical to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and analyse monthly financial performance reports
* Support consolidated financial reporting for executive and board committees
* Prepare quarterly financial analysis and insights
* Assist with interim audit processes
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger reviews
* Support compliance obligations across government financial frameworks
* Monitor financial systems and interfaces to ensure data integrity
* Partner with senior program managers on financial reporting matters
* Contribute to ad hoc finance projects as required
About You
* Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or Business
* CPA or CA qualification highly regarded
* Strong experience in management accounting and statutory reporting
* Experience using Technology One or a comparable FMIS
* High attention to detail with a strong compliance mindset
* Confident communicator able to engage effectively with senior stakeholders
* Comfortable working in a structured, values-driven environment
