Based at the Perth head office of a leading mining contractor organisation, this Payroll Officer position plays a key role in ensuring payroll operations are accurate, compliant and delivered within required timeframes. You will take ownership of payroll processing activities while supporting ongoing improvements in systems and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Process payroll in accordance with legislative requirements and company policies
* Ensure salary disbursements are accurate and delivered on time
* Manage overpayment recovery processes
* Administer leave management and payroll reporting
* Maintain complete and accurate employee payroll records
* Ensure compliance with relevant Awards, legislation and internal policies (in consultation with the Payroll Manager)
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within payroll processing and procedures
* Respond to payroll-related queries in a professional and timely manner
About You
* Previous experience in a Payroll Officer position
* Experience using large ERP systems such as Pronto, SAP SF or Chris21 (highly regarded)
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Ability to interpret Awards and relevant payroll legislation
* Sound numeracy skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work within structured timeframes and meet payroll deadlines
* Mining or resources industry experience preferred but not essential
