Our client is looking to recruit a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team in a full-time, office-based role. This position plays a key part in supporting the financial operations of the business while also assisting with some general office administration.
The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping experience, excellent organisational skills, and confidence working with accounting systems.
Office Hours (Full Time – Office Based)
Monday to Friday – 8:00am – 4:30pm
Key Responsibilities of a Bookkeeper
Maintaining accurate financial records and completing regular bank reconciliations
Raising sales invoices and processing purchase invoices
Managing credit control, monitoring outstanding balances, and following up overdue payments
Assisting with payroll administration and having a basic understanding of wage processing
Supporting CIS administration where required (desirable)
Assisting with maintaining VAT records and preparing information for VAT returns (desirable)
General Office Support
Carrying out general administrative tasks and data entry
Answering incoming phone calls and directing enquiries professionally
Managing emails and responding in a timely manner
Scheduling appointments and maintaining company diaries
Organising and maintaining both digital and paper filing systems
Ordering office supplies and monitoring stock levels
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience in a bookkeeping role within an office environment
Strong knowledge of invoicing, purchase ledger, sales ledger, and reconciliations
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic knowledge of payroll processing
Experience with CIS (Construction Industry Scheme)
Experience with VAT returns and record keeping
Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or similar
