The Product Lab within this team conceives new product ideas, and a desirability lead tests their desirability.The new product ideas will come to the person we are hiring as a viability lead, who will assess their commercial viability before passing successful ideas to a feasibility lead. This role requires a craft leader in assessing viability, involving cross-team collaboration.What you’ll deliver with usThe Product Viability Lead evaluates business strategies, informs product development, and supports decision-making to improve customer experiences and achieve sustainable outcomes. They oversee end-to-end solutions, provide strategic direction, develop compelling content, and incorporate market insights.This senior role involves defining commercial product constructs, supporting squads within the Parcel Product team, and establishing viability as a critical craft. The Viability Lead asks critical questions about financial, commercial, and market sustainability, helping prioritize work pipelines and strategic narratives.The role also involves fostering relationships across teams such as GTM, Pricing, Finance, and others to develop a viability perspective. Key questions include costs, capital investment, pricing models, ROI, sustainability, competitive advantages, and customer differentiation.As the custodian of the viability lens, this role combines financial acumen with strategic insight, guiding investment decisions and ensuring alignment with Australia Post’s goals. The individual must quickly derive insights from relevant data.You’ll …Lead financial modelling and viability assessments for all Product initiatives.Develop business cases, including NPV and DCF analyses.Collaborate with Finance, Pricing, and Product teams on revenue strategies.Identify risks and opportunities, recommending mitigation strategies.Facilitate workshops on viability challenges and alternative revenue models.Share market trends and financial benchmarks to inform decisions.Work with senior stakeholders to design viable, strategic solutions.Advise Product Managers on profitability, pricing, and market positioning.Promote viability as a key consideration in the pipeline prioritization.Communicate the financial and competitive impact of viability considerations to executives.About youYou possess high commercial acumen and experience in developing business cases.
