What role will you play?
As a Senior Java Engineer within the Electronic Trading Technology team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our in-house connectivity platform and delivering key initiatives related to our Delta 1 flow. You will take ownership of the end-to-end delivery process, including gathering requirements, coordinating with internal teams, developing solutions, and implementing them to support the desk. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the platform\'s architecture and driving simplification initiatives, ensuring it remains robust and future-ready. You will work on optimizing and reducing the latency of the platform to maintain its competitive edge and provide second-level production support to ensure high availability and reliability of our trading systems.
Responsibilities
* Enhance our in-house connectivity platform and deliver initiatives related to the Delta 1 flow.
* Take ownership of end-to-end delivery: gathering requirements, coordinating with internal teams, developing solutions, and implementing them to support the desk.
* Shape the platform\'s architecture and drive simplification initiatives to ensure robustness and future-readiness.
* Optimize and reduce latency to maintain competitive edge; provide second-level production support for high availability and reliability.
* Deliver within agreed constraints of time, effort and scope; make a tangible impact on the trading technology landscape.
What You Offer (Qualifications)
* 10+ years of solid experience in low-level Java development with a focus on tuning for low-latency trading systems
* Strong knowledge of the FIX protocol and its application in trading environments
* Proven ability to work well under pressure, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience with automated testing, including building testing harnesses
* Familiarity with performance testing and market data handling to optimise system efficiency and reliability
