 
        
        Regulatory Writer - Unmanned Aerial Systems Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Writer (RPAS) to support our regulatory and safety framework in the unmanned aerial systems sector.
Key Responsibilities:
 * Prepare and maintain beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) standard operating risk assessments (SORA) applications in accordance with JARUS methodology and Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) requirements.
 * Interpret and apply Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASR) Part 101, associated minimum operational safety standards (MOS), and regulatory guidance to company operations.
 * Support the chief remote pilot in managing safety systems, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.
 * Generate operational maps and supporting material using geographic information system (GIS) tools such as QGIS.
 * Liaise with CASA and other regulatory bodies as required, supporting audits and application reviews.
 * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving RPAS regulatory frameworks and industry best practices.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
 * Solid experience with unmanned aerial systems (UAS) BVLOS operations.
 * Strong understanding of CASR Part 101 and JARUS SORA methodology.
 * Demonstrated ability drafting regulatory submissions, safety cases, or equivalent compliance documentation.
 * Proficiency with GIS software for informational map generation.
 * Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
 * Australian work rights.
 * Background in aviation safety, compliance, or systems engineering.
 * Familiarity with UAS operational concepts and mission planning processes.
